Shirley Cho is an Australian-Korean interdisciplinary artist with formal training in Jewellery and Object Design, as well as in Sculpture and Installation. Her artistic practice focuses on materials and processes and in her installations, she explores the relationship between objects and their interplay with different spatial qualities. Shirley’s artistic work reflects on childhood memories, the history and influence of her wandering family, and questions of identity and home. This background is woven into her practice and work philosophy, and materials such as gold and silver leaf, ceramics, glass, wood, metal, paper and textiles come together in her work, subtly combining fragments to create a narrative of the artist.
Shirley is based since 2013 in Stuttgart, Germany.
