Grandmother waves and I wave. We continue this until I am over the hill, we both seeing and we both feeling. It’s one thing to drink tea, and another to experience it. The moment of being together, sharing and reflecting - transient but meaningful. That is the ritual of tea. The Australian artist, Shirley Cho, invites visitors to experience something of the many things she has learned from her grandmother. Through layers of subtle details and the artist’s gesture, ITO Raum becomes the installation and the host and guest themselves become part of the work.
